The Guangdong Industrial Analysis and Testing Center is a prestigious institution in China specializing in the quality testing of metal materials, metallurgical products, chemical products, and recycled resources. It also conducts harmful substance testing in compliance with the EU's RoHS directive, as well as comprehensive utilization testing and consultation for metal materials, evaluation, and analysis and testing technology research. Established in 1971, the Center has successively been affiliated with the Guangzhou Institute of Nonferrous Metals Research and the Guangdong Provincial Industrial Technology Research Institute (Guangzhou Institute of Nonferrous Metals Research). In December 2015, it was approved as a second-level public institution under the Guangdong Academy of Sciences by the Guangdong Provincial Organization and Personnel Commission. Recognized as a "Steel and Non-Ferrous Metals Inspection Laboratory" by the former State Administration for Import and Export Commodity Inspection in 1988, it is one of the first social laboratories in China to be approved for import and export commodity inspection. In the same year, it was certified as a legal quality supervision and inspection institution of product quality at both national and provincial levels, and authorized as the "South China Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Nonferrous Metal Industry" and the "Guangdong Province Quality Supervision Station for Nonferrous Metal Products." In 1989, it was approved as the "Guangdong Province Science and Technology Achievement Appraisal and Supervision Institution" by the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Commission. In 1994, it was recognized by the National Laboratory Accreditation of China, becoming one of the 60 laboratories in China that were publicly announced as having obtained national recognition and international mutual recognition. In 1996, it was certified as a product inspection laboratory by the China Quality Certification Center. In December 2006, with the support of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Center established the "Guangdong Province Comprehensive Utilization Inspection Center for Metal Materials."
